Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, aka Ari Lennox, was born in Washington, D.C. on the 26th of March in 1991. She's an American musician and singer. She was the first artist signed by J. Cole to his record label Dreamville Records. On the 21st of October, 2016, she released Pho, her first EP for the Dreamville Records label. That was the day she gained her first notoriety. Her debut album Shea Butter Baby was released on May 7, 2019. Ari Lennox first uploaded her music on the internet in 2012. She released her debut album Ariography and debut mixtape in 2013, Five Finger Discount. The singer continued uploading her music online in 2014, which included the self-released single Bound. On July 21st, 2015. Omen featured her on Elephant Eyes' track Sweat It Out. J. Cole, who was part of the Dreamville team at the time, wanted to have her create Rihanna reference. The announcement that she would be signed by Dreamville Records was made on the 8th day of December. She was featured on the joint album Revenge of the Dreamers II in the track Backseat featuring Cozz. On October 21, 2016 the debut EP of Ari Lennox was released under the name Pho. Ari Lennox performed the song Change by J. Cole as well as opening The 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017. She was joined by EarthGang. In 2018 she guest-starred on two tracks with her label-mates EarthGang to Nothing but the Best. Also, she appeared on Bas On Icarus. The 16th of July, 2018, Ari Lennox released the first single Whipped Cream from her debut album Shea Butter Baby with an accompanied music video on September 5. In November, she dropped two more singles called 40 Shades of Choke and Grampa. She then released on the 13th of November, two brand new singles called One and Pedigree. One and pedigree. Shea Butter Baby is a track she sang together with Cole for Creed II's soundtrack on 16 November. It then came out as a stand-alone single in February 2019, to coincide with her debut album. In February of 2019, a music video was released for the song. It has already received nearly 3 million views on YouTube in its first week. In December 2018 she performed on her From East Atlanta With Love Tour featuring 6LACK.
